The Weekend in Review

20 milerAnother one of those posts filled with photos from the weekend :)

Saturday began with my 20 miler-  it was a little rough around the edges.  I felt tired for most of it-  my legs were a little sore from the start and that didn’t improve much during the run.  Also, I combined my regular 20 miler with some pieces from Nicole’s long run and created a supremely hilly monster run.  It “got done” so to speak-  and then off to obedience class with Isaac!

Daphne came over Saturday afternoon and we had a busy day!  DSCN4157

We painted nails….DSCN4159 We also made “pascetti” using 00 flour mixed with semolina (the texture was amazing).  Daphne is AWESOME at separating the pasta strands!

Sunday was spent reorganizing my closet and cleaning my room…  until the UCONN GAME!

FINAL FOUR!!!

Take that, Spartans!  (Sorry Erik!)

We met Jenna and Brian to watch the game :)Snapchat-20140330021116

And then we made fried chicken for dinner!

DSCN4204That macaroni and cheese was AMAZING and courtesy of chef (aka Farmer) Brian, Jenna’s husband…  it had almost 2 pounds of cheese and truffle oil AND buttered ritz crackers.  Recipe is coming later this week!

And that was that!

Tell me about your weekend!

Haha, well its best not to mess with a good thing! I always eat random stuff before a race – I’ve done Chinese, Mexican, Italian…. I always have an alcoholic drink too – usually a beer.

Yes, do a post about must-do stuff (especially eats and drinks) in Boston!! I’ve been there just a few times so I know a few places, but I am by no means an expert.

Nice work getting the 20 miler done! More than I can say for myself – I am sick and had to postpone my 20 til next weekend.

Do you have any recommendations for dinner in Boston Sunday night before the race?? We want to do seafood on Saturday night, but that would probably not be a good idea for the night before. We have a few ideas, but if you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them? What do you usually eat the night before a big race? I usually am not too neurotic about my meals (maybe I should be) and don’t feel like I have to do the typical pasta, carb-heavy meal.

Depends on what you like! I think the North End is going to be a MOB SCENE. I am going to think on the restaurant thing! I usually eat fish tacos before a race (sounds weird, I know)- but I do grilled fish, simple salsas, not too much cabbage slaw, and 1 amazing margarita. It is my PR formula! Every time I have strayed nothing good has happened. This is inspiring me to get something together for everyone visiting town :)

It is on the list! The VERY first thing that pops into my mind is to go visit Harpoon out on the seaport- they do phenomenal fire roasted soft pretzels now (the only thing they do) and the tour is really great. Get in line early though! It sells quickly. But I am definitely still thinking on “real” food :)

Awesome idea! Just texted my friends about it. We will probably hit that up right after the expo since they are close. Thanks!
