One Week From today, We Run

Last year I ran Boston with no expectations of my performance- after all, I had only run a total of 6 miles (in a row) prior to the race and had just spent A LOT of time on crutches and in the pool.

This year is different.  In one week, as I toe the line, I plan on running. RUNNING.

In one week, I will run the full 26.2 miles that I did not get to run last year.

In one week, I hope to run “MY” Boston.  A fast race, a memorable race, a smart race- a race that is worthy of what the Boston Marathon means to runners.

When I cross this line on Monday, it will be my first time.  It makes me anxious, excited, sad, and happy all at the same time.  It is an incredible privilege to be able to run again.

So exciting! This will be my 2nd Boston as well. I, too, ran it injured last year but did have the opportunity to cross the line. Are you as nervous as I am? Every time I turn on the TVthere is a reminder. Makes it hard to relax!

Absolutely. The coverage is making me anxious for sure- it is hard to relive the day over and over again. A part of me can’t wait for it just to be done!

Amen! So happy for you, Kristina. You will be great. Enjoy the whole experience.
